Deva: Vidya Balan shares excitement for Shahid Kapoor-led upcoming actioner; says ‘can’t wait’

Vidya Balan is eagerly anticipating the release of Deva, starring Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde. The actress shared her excitement on social media, expressing how much she can’t wait to watch the film on the big screen. Produced by her husband, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Deva is all set to bring an action-packed thrill to cinemas.

 

Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde are gearing up to captivate audiences with their upcoming action thriller Deva, directed by Rosshan Andrrews, which is now set to hit cinemas on January 31, 2025. The film was initially scheduled for release on February 14, 2025, but the date has been moved up, giving fans an earlier treat.

Following the announcement of the new release date, Vidya Balan took to her Instagram stories to share her excitement, reposting the update and writing, “Yay so excited @roykapurfilms. Arre #Deva, can’t wait for 31-01-25.”

Pinkvilla had earlier reported on the film’s updated release date before the official announcement was made. Shortly after, @roykapurfilms and @zeestudiosofficial confirmed the change on Instagram, encouraging fans to mark their calendars. The caption read: “Sit tight, ‘cause the wait just got shorter! Deva is coming your way sooner than you think—January 31st, 2025! The hype is real, the energy is through the roof, and we’re beyond excited to bring you this action-packed thriller earlier than expected!”

Produced by Vidya Balan’s husband, Siddharth Roy Kapur, under Roy Kapur Films, Deva also stars Pavail Gulati and Kubbra Sait in key roles.

In addition to Deva, another highly anticipated film, Chhaava starring Vicky Kaushal, has also received a new release date. Initially set for December 6, 2024, Chhaava will now release on February 14, 2025. The film, based on the life of Maratha king Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, was shifted to February to coincide with the celebration of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti. Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan, Chhaava also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Suniel Shetty, and Akshaye Khanna.
