Former U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was hospitalized after sustaining an injury during an official visit to Luxembourg. Pelosi was traveling with a bipartisan Congressional delegation to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, a significant World War II event. The spokesperson for Pelosi, Ian Krager, confirmed the news in a statement, explaining that the injury occurred during an official engagement.

The Battle of the Bulge, fought in 1944-1945, marked a major German offensive that was ultimately repelled by the Allied forces, becoming a defining moment in U.S. military history. Pelosi’s visit was part of an ongoing effort to honor the bravery and sacrifices of American servicemembers during this pivotal battle.

“While in Luxembourg for the Battle of the Bulge anniversary, Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi sustained an injury during an official engagement and was admitted to the hospital for evaluation,” Krager stated.

Pelosi is receiving medical care and expressed regret over missing the remaining engagements. “Speaker Emerita Pelosi is currently receiving excellent treatment and continues to work. She regrets not being able to attend the rest of the CODEL engagements meant to honor the courage of our servicemembers,” the spokesperson added.
